Cosmetic Chest

Chest

- Modeled in Autodesk Maya (7629 Faces 14278 Tris)

- Textured in Substance Painter (1024 x 1024 Pixel)

The Process:

I used the reference images from Google as a base and mapped out the chest's silhouette and basic geometry using as few polygons as I could using Maya and increased complexity as needed. Once the low poly model was completed and UV unwrapped, I used the low poly model as a spring point to created another chest for a high poly model. The high poly chest featured an increased level of detail and attention paid to smaller and more intricate sections of the chest's design.

The model was imported into Substance: Painter for texturing using a high poly to low poly workflow to bake extra detail into the final asset.
