Captain's Bed

The Process:
Created as a main piece for a pirate captain's cabin. The bed frame started with simple geometry and gained complexity as needed. The blanket started off as a high poly model using NURBs curves that were lofted into a poly mesh and then applied with nCloth to conform it to a more natural shape around the bed frame while still maintaining a slightly stylized look. The blanket was decimated to a low poly mesh and the bed gained additional high poly details such as the handles and brackets.

UV map
The model was imported into Substance: Painter for texturing using a high poly to low poly workflow to bake extra detail into the final asset.
